Fully planked or decked working levels and allowed spaces
The general platform rule addresses the area between front uprights and guardrail supports, then defines how adjacent platform units and uprights are treated. Demonstrated necessity and limited exceptions matter. A diagram or one-inch phrase alone does not resolve unusual geometry.
Platform planning should identify every unit, opening, upright, side bracket, access opening, and change in direction. Trapdoors and access transitions must remain tied to the complete system and instructions.
Width and distance from the work face
